No confirmed European release for iPhone Tetris and EA Sudoku
EA still 'evaluating' their release on this side of the pond
Are you a European iPhone owner wanting to get your thumbs on Tetris and EA Sudoku? You could have a wait on your hands.
Despite being announced as launch titles for iPhone, they have yet to appear on the App Store here in the UK, despite being available in the US.
So what's happening? We asked EA, and a spokesperson told us this: "EA launched games for iPhone and iPod touch in the US and Canada and continues to evaluate bringing these games to market worldwide."
What's confusing is that on EA's original press release announcing its iPhone launch line-up, only Scrabble was flagged as a US- and Canada-only game. Here's the relevant bit of the release:
"Players will now be able to enjoy three popular EA games, Scrabble (US and Canada only), EA Sudoku and Tetris, on their iPhone and iPod touch."The clear implication was that Sudoku and Tetris would be global, so it's unclear what the hold-up is. You'd think it wouldn't take long to evaluate whether Tetris should be released for iPhone in Europe, given the success of the mobile version.
