Gameloft's puzzler offers motion controls

Bubble Bash game pops onto iPhone

Gameloft has certainly been busy – it's got a stack of games for the launch of the iPhone App Store. Bubble Bash is a conversion of the publisher's existing mobile puzzler, and offers colourful Puzzle Bobble style action.

The game has more than 100 levels to work through, all filled with bubbles that you have to match three at a time, to make them pop and disappear. Along the way, you're impeded by monkeys, spiders and parrots.

Why? We don't know. Maybe it's some kind of weird phobia.

Anyway, the big change from the mobile version is the control system. You can either tilt the iPhone to move your little platform back and forth, or drag your finger across the touchscreen to move it that way.

We've tried both, and it's fair to say they're like marmite – you'll probably love one method and loathe the other (but which is which will be different for each gamer).

It looks and sounds lovely – something notable about the iPhone games we've played so far, including Bubble Bash, is the quality of the sound – and with 17 special bubbles to use, there's plenty of strategy involved.

Bubble Bash is available on the App Store now for a bargain £4.99. Click here to go straight there, if you've got iTunes on your computer.
