Pokemon, echochrome and Ferrari - PSP and DS releases hit the big time

DS + PSP

If last week was a pretty fine one for game releases, this week is even better. For one thing, there are four PSP games released, which is the second most PSP games that have been released on one day in the whole of 2008. (And two more are due next Friday as well.)

For another, one of this week's PSP games is likely to rank high in the games of 2008 list; so heed our advice and get in on the ground floor by trying out echochrome (a mere £18) as soon as you can. (Even if you don't trust us, trust yourself and have a look at this video of it in action.)

We're also somewhat amazed to see that Ferrari Challenge is almost certain to be released for DS. We say 'amazed' and 'almost certain' because it's possibly the most 'almost released' game in history, as it's been slipping by a couple of weeks for about ten months, losing its PSP version along the way. Indeed, we played an almost complete version last August.

But, of course, the headline DS release of the week is the dual Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness / Explorers of Time, which places the latest edition of the Pokémon zoo into a dungeon-crawling environment. It's one for hardcore Catch 'Em All fans only, though.
