Kicks off with a virtual bakery

Cellufun launches mobile virtual mall

We've written about US firm Cellufun often on Pocket Gamer. The company has focused on making online WAP games for mobile, with social aspects and advertising.

Anyway, Cellufun just announced something new: a virtual mobile mall. It's called the CelluMall, and lets gamers spend the points they've earned by playing the company's games on virtual items.

First up? A bakery, sponsored by online bakery Geoff & Drew's. No, we didn't realise there was such a thing as an online bakery either.

There, gamers will be able to buy cookies, brownies and other virtual baked goods to give to other players, or keep for themselves. There'll also be advertising of course, including vouchers to buy real food from the online store itself.

It sounds intriguing, and before you laugh at the idea of giving virtual cookies to people on a mobile gaming community, think of all those people throwing sheep at each other on Facebook…
