And so begins the great PSP software drought
|
DS + PSP

Well might PlayStation headhoncho David Reeves admit PSP needs more games. While it's all very well explaining that there are lots of Japanese companies working on great games, we won't be playing then over here until 2009 at the earliest.

Frankly it's something Sony should have handled better. A steady flow of games keeps people interested. At least June looks like it will be a lot better, what with Buzz! Quiz Master, echochrome, Lego Indiana Jones: The Video Game, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Secret Agent Clank due for release. But surely it would have made some sense to shift some of those into May, especially as Sony is directly publishing three of them.

But it's too humid to get overly het up. Let's focus on what we have, not what we haven't.

Doctor Who: Top Trumps on DS is clearly the game we're most interested in, but there's a decent variety of dual screen software due for release, from long overdue puzzler Fizz to point-and-click adventure Secret Files: Tunguska, much delayed racer Ferrari Challenge (will it really make it to the starting grid next week? We doubt it) and Pirates: Duels On the High Seas; another game we've been watching for a while, even though its release date has been all over the place.

Honestly, you just can't expect game publishers to do anything on time these days. Tsk.
