New Broken Sword game coming to DS
At least, that's the word on the street
The DS has become a haven for adventure games, with titles like Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright selling in numbers that would amaze and disgust those who were busily shovelling grave dirt on the genre a few years ago.
For those who don't already know, Broken Sword – originally a PC point-and-clicker – is one of the more traditional examples of the genre. The series sees you steering protagonist George Stobbart around and getting him to use things on other things in order to accomplish things.
And guess what. A new instalment is coming to DS. The news comes courtesy of UK magazine N-Revolution, which reports that the new title in the series will be a prequel to the first game, Shadow of the Templars, which memorably kicked off with an explosion at a Paris café.
The game hasn't been officially announced as yet, but a while back Revolution Software referred fans to an online petition to gauge interest in a 2D episode for DS and I'm guessing responses were sufficiently numerous to justify a new game. Let's hope so.
