id Software hasn't (yet) brought its Wolfenstein franchise to mobile, but Gameleons is stepping in to fill the gap with its new game, The Overtaker 3D.

It's a World War II-themed first-person shooter, offering atmospheric 3D visuals that are distinctly reminiscent of the Wolfenstein games. Which is no bad thing.

The plot involves sneaking around a secret Third Reich lab to destroy some mysterious new technology, in your role as the Overtaker (not, sadly, a WWE wrestler with a fast car, as we first hoped).

The game will have 12 levels to work through, and a variety of weapons to help you in your quest. Oh, and "dark, gloomy music", which is always nice.

The game is out soon, and if the controls can match the visuals, it could be something of a treat for mobile gamers.
