Konami wants your creative input

Design a character for DanceDanceRevolution Mobile

The latest mobile games publisher to leap onto the user-generated content bandwagon is Konami Digital Entertainment, which wants fans to design characters for the upcoming DanceDanceRevolution mobile game.

It's launched a contest in the US, and the winner's entry will be included in the game, which is due out this autumn. It's being run through the DDR Online Community.

"The DDR community is a dedicated and diverse group of people with outstanding creativity," says Konami's Joe Morris. "We are constantly amazed with their dedication and knowledge of the brand. We can't think of a better group to help us usher in the third iteration in this phenomenal franchise."

The entry deadline is May 1st, so interested gamers had better get their skates on. Oh, and no derivative characters are allowed (i.e. don't think you can squeeze an orange version of Sonic The Hedgehog in there).

Konami is obviously keen on this 'get fans to design game characters' lark, since it did the same thing with its Contra 4 game last year.
