Japan was all set to be the first country to get Skype on PSP. But after Sony hit a bit of a hitch with its hardware, it's ended up being last.
In January, the service's launch was delayed there after Sony's two official microphone products failed to meet Skype specifications.
But today Sony announced Japanese PSP users will be getting their Skype firmware update on March 18th. Obviously the problems are all now sorted and a new PSP microphone attachment – which plugs into the USB on top of the PSP and appears identical to the one that came with TalkMan – is due for release there on March 19th.
So, if you've been wanting to have a chat with Japanese friends, there's not much longer to wait. Then PSP owners the world over will all be able to converse with one another.
And that's a beautiful thing.
