Gameloft has announced its best-selling puzzle game Bubble Bash has hit iTunes for download. The game is a sort of cross between Puzzle Bobble and Bust-A-Move in that it has you hitting like-coloured bubbles into one another to make them disappear, but it's set on a tropical island which means there are angry spiders, monkeys and parrots to contend with, too.

There's also treasure to collect as you progress through the game's 100 evolving levels while playing as characters Malia and Kale. The game has sold over a million on mobile, already making it one of Gameloft's most popular original titles. It's little surprise, given that those 100 levels are actually very enjoyable.

Bubble Bash is currently available on iTunes for £3.99. We'll have a review for you shortly.

In the meantime, if bubble popping doesn't sound like your thing, Gameloft has also conjured up a couple of other new titles for download.

Naval Battle: Mission Commander, a strategy battle game, is now available, complete with 18 missions and a multiplayer mode, and – for a slightly lower octane game – so is Chess & Backgammon.

And while on the subject, EA also has a new game up in the store. Yahtzee, that classic dice rolling game, is now available for (potential) portable fun. Plenty to keep your iPod wheel clicking until the next iPod title shows up, then.
