Website NextGenBooks.com has announced it'll be optimising its latest free RPG game called Warrior Quest to play on PSP. The game currently runs on PC, Mac, PS3 and Wii but a streamlined edition is due in March which will run under PSP memory restrictions.

Warrior Quest admittedly won't be for everyone, being a traditional RPG adventure similar to the likes of Dragon Quest and Phantasy Star – albeit free – and with the sorts of storybook graphics that could have stepped straight out of 1988.

But you can you explore various areas on your map, talk to characters and also battle enemies in turn-based fights, as well as collect and trade skills and Battle Cards. And did we mention it's free? That could be this game's biggest 'selling' point on initial impressions, however we only had the most fleeting of plays and you might well get a bit more out of it.

Don't take our word for it, though: head over to the site for the browser game, more information on the upcoming PSP version and other graphic novels you may or may not be interested in.
