Young developer Bloomsix has recently announced Armada: Kingdoms, a "mobile massive multiplayer online strategy game, where thousands of players own a town and form kingdoms with other people."

Mobile MMOs haven't really caught on in our view, because the fear of data charges still lingers amongst the general mobile gaming public. However, during 2007 several titles gathered on the horizon, threatening to make a charge, with the excellent Mobile Battles: Reign of Swords making inroads on the genre, and TibiaME holding up the rear.

There have even been rumours of World of Warcraft on mobile, although scepticism is advised.

Bloomsix only came into being on the 29th December 2007, and Armada is its first title. Information is scant so far, but you can rest assured we'll be keeping a keen eye on developments. The full release is due for the second quarter of this year.
