New cobalt and black DS set to hit US shops
Just make sure your clothing doesn't clash
Nintendo of America has announced a 'Cobalt/Black' coloured DS is to be released in the US on February 10th. As is nearly always the case with exciting new coloured consoles, there's no news on whether we'll be getting it in the UK, but head over to eBay next month and no doubt there'll be hundreds up for sale should you fancy one.
We have to give some mention to the press release that accompanied this announcement, simply because it's even more painstakingly lifestyle-aimed than the Nicole Kidman Brain Training ads. If this continues, we're going to start getting nostalgic for the days when everyone just thought there was no point aiming adverts at gamers because they never turned away from their computer monitors.
From the release: "Like a black T-shirt with a splash of colour, the new Cobalt/Black version of the portable Nintendo DS grabs your attention. It looks good whether it's toted in your school backpack, pulled from your purse or riding with you on a family trip. Cobalt/Black marks the seventh colour in the Nintendo DS Lite palette. It joins Polar White, Coral Pink, Onyx, Crimson/Black and the limited-edition Gold and Metallic Rose. Now there's a Nintendo DS colour to complement any outfit."
We're off to buy a black t-shirt with a splash of colour so we're fully colour-coordinated when it's released. You can see the new DS in all of its blue shiny glory above.
