Digital Chocolate to release great ad-funded mobile games

This is genuinely exciting news. Digital Chocolate has announced plans to distribute a bunch of its older games for free via ad-funded portal GameJump (as well as various other sites run by its parent company Greystripe).

The titles being given away include some of Pocket Gamer's favourite ever mobile games: Tower Bloxx, Cafe Solitaire, Mafia Wars Yakuza, Rollercoaster Rush, Night Club Empire and Johnny Crash.

Every one's a gem, we promise. And the news addresses one of our main concerns about ad-funded portals: the quality of the games given away. The ad-funded model means games have to be good, since if people don't play them lots, they don't make any money.

Better still, it means you can tell all your friends to go here and download Tower Bloxx, for free. Then watch them eat their words about mobile games being rubbish.

As we said, exciting news.
