Gardening and mobile games don't go together that often. Apart from that time we meant to spend two hours digging up our allotment and got sidetracked by Tower Bloxx.

However, Astraware aims to change that with its new puzzler, Plantastic! The clue's in the title: it involves creating bouquets from groups of colourful flowers so as to make them disappear from the screen.

The flowers stack up in a queue for you to place in your garden, but there are restrictions on which blooms can be placed where. Completing levels is achieved by hitting their 'bloom target', while there's a nefarious mole who pops up and tries to steal your flowers, and must be bludgeoned tapped on the head to put him off.

There's power-ups to help you, too, including a super trowel (we could do with one of those for our real-life garden). Plantastic! is out now for Palm OS and Windows Mobile smartphones and PDAs, and makes use of their touchscreens for the controls.

In other Astraware news, the publisher has just released its Astraware Classic Collection, which includes three smartphone games: Astraware Sudoku, Astraware Boardgames, and Astraware Solitaire, and is a third cheaper than buying the three games separately.
