Lego Batman details finally emerge from the shadows of development

Warner Bros, which has recently acquired developer Traveller's Tales, today celebrated the deal by releasing the first information on the forthcoming Lego Batman: The Videogame. Which is a title we don't mind telling you we're quite excited about.

In it you get to roam around a Lego Gotham City as either Batman or Robin as you battle to capture infamous villains, such as The Joker and The Penguin.

To track these foes escaped from Arkham Asylum you get Batman's many gadgets at your disposal, as well as the ability to build and operate vehicles. And you do this in one- or two-player cooperative gameplay.

The ability to take control of villains points to other potential multiplayer elements, although no real detail on this aspect has been released.

"We're sure our fans will be excited to know that we have the same fantastic team at Traveller's Tales responsible for Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars II working on Lego Batman," said Tom Stone, director of TT games publishing, thereby saving us the need to say so in the process.

No word yet on the release date, though.
