Gameloft teams with Kobe Bryant for mobile basketball game

Who got da dunk? Gameloft has, that's who!

Basketball isn't hugely popular in the UK. If it was, Peter Crouch would be an NBA All Star now. Possibly. Those of us who appreciate the thought of an England striker who actually scores goals should be thankful.

Anyway, with basketball being something of a minor sport here, Gameloft's new Kobe Bryant Pro Basketball 2008 game might be seen as a niche product. But we still think it looks pretty cool.

It's from the NBA Jam school of baller sims, so expect plenty of gravity-defying slam dunks alongside the regular match action.

However, it sounds like Gameloft has pulled out all the stops to add depth to its creation, with a full 80-game season plus playoffs, as well as detailed roster and tactic-tweaking features. Oh, and separate slam dunk and three-point shootout challenges.

The game's out now on Gameloft's own website, and will hopefully be alley ooping its way onto operator portals, too.
