The Weakest Link 2008 heads for mobile

The Weakest Link? Is that still going? We thought Deal Or No Deal had killed off all the previous most-hyped TV gameshows.

But no, Anne Robinson can't be seen off that easily, and besides, on mobile The Weakest Link has been arguably a more enduringly brand than the TV show.

I-play certainly hopes so, since it's launching The Weakest Link 2008, an all-new buffed-up version. However, the company hasn't followed Gameloft's lead and actually put the presenter in-game, so you won't have to face Anne's icy stare.

What you will have is 1,500 questions spread across categories including geography, history and physics, which I-play says is the largest number in any mobile quiz game.

There's also ten different contestants, all with their own photo-realistic avatars and special grimaces when things go well or badly. The game's soundtrack has been beefed up too, with actual quotes from the TV show included.

The Weakest Link 2008 is due out before Christmas, and looks set to make a splash. Click 'Track It' for an email alert when we review it.
