Blade prepares to pot World Snooker Championship on DS

It's not the most glamorous or high profile of sporting activities, but with its World Snooker Championship series, Blade Interactive seems to have the coloured baize game firmly tucked away in its pocket. So after credible 2007 releases for PSP and mobile, it's now time for DS to get the rub of chalk on green.

The company hasn't released much official information about the game so far, but taking a wild stab in the dark, we'd assume stylus-based cue-work, realistic ball physics, the appearance of the world's top snooker players, the obvious ability to play through a championship, as well as quick play and tutorial options.

It's not the only snooker game currently looking for an audience, though: competition comes in the shape of Oxygen's 8Ball Allstars, which trumps online multiplayer as one of its key features.

Which of the two will take the frame is impossible to say at this stage, but you can at least get a better idea of how World Snooker Championship Season 2007-2008 works thanks to this video of the action:
