Activision deploys DS version of Call of Duty 4
The first-person shooter invasion continues
As gamers we've all won World War II single-handedly a couple of times over now, so it's refreshing to see Activision bringing its one-time Nazi-besting Call of Duty series into the present day. Heck, let's best some ultra-nationalists Ruskies instead – it'll be just like the Berlin Wall never fell.
Flexing its pre-E3 muscles, IGN has been down to see n-Space, the studio behind the DS version of the game. It's posted a detailed interview with producer Sam Nouriani, as well as a bunch of screens.
The game follows the basic flow as the X360, PC, PS3 version, seeing you fighting in the roles of (alternatively) a member of the SAS and the US Marine Corp.
You'll also get into some on-rails action as the gunner in vehicles such as Humvee, Blackhawk chopper, and an AC130 gunship, and partake in stylus-based mini-games such as diffusing and placing explosive charges, too.
Four-player adhoc multiplayer will be supported, and a set of smaller maps will also be available for single cart gamesharing.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be deploying into war-torn Central Asia sometime this autumn.
