Anno 1701 DS sends in the troops

Can you have too much of a good thing? We'd like to find out, and it seems that Disney will be happy to indulge our wish as it's just released another video for its DS strategy game, Anno 1701: Dawn of Discovery.

Unlike last week's general gameplay footage, this video focuses on the game's building-based combat.

The fracas is triggered by an invasion of nasty pirates, with the player reacting by quickly going into the menu of the attacked market building and dialling up the soldier setting. This attracts any newly available troops into the fray. There are enough in this case to beat off the pirate menace, no doubt leaving the nascent civilisation to progress towards the eventual utopia of universal suffrage, personal property ownership and the adoption of global capitalism:
