Last week Apple extended its iPod games to unlucky 13 with the launch of innovative music challenge, iQuiz (which secured our treasured Gold Award shortly after) and today it's gone one better, opening the iTunes hatch to upload Gameloft's Lost.

Based upon the award-winning mobile game (well, it scooped our bronze award back in January), the game charges players to help hero Jack in his search to find dynamite, avoid the black smoke and generally help out his fellow castaways.

In practice, the mobile version broke down into a host of mini-challenges, ranging from hunting boar to blowing your way through mazes with dynamite, held together by a rolling narrative. As we've not yet got our hands on the iPod title, we can't say for sure whether this is a direct port to a different screen size or whether new elements have been added.

What we can say is that the storyline is created by the writers behind the hit TV series, and that the game gives you the chance to explore familiar scenarios (from the beach to Black Rock), relive key moments (including the crash and meeting the Others) and interact with a host of familiar characters including Kate, Locke, Sayid and Sawyer.

Available now for £3.99 (or €4.99), we'll be delivering our verdict in the very near future...or maybe we already have and we're just not telling you? Oooh, mysterious!

Can't stand the suspense? You could always click the 'Track It!' button to have the review fast-tracked to your inbox.
