Namco launches retro-themed Mini Golf game

Wow, another mini golf game. Just what we need on mobile. After all, it's not as if there's already 27 of the buggers out there. Oh...

Thankfully, Namco has tried to do something original with its upcoming Namco Arcade Golf game – a colourful title that comes in 2D and 3D flavours, enables up to four-player matchups on a single handset, and includes a Tournament mode to test your skills against mobile-controlled opponents.

So far, so normal. However, there's also a whopping 27 courses to play on, spread between the US, Europe and Japan. And there's mini-games to play, too, including a few names you might recognise. Pac-Man, Galaxian, DigDug and, er, Claw Grab. Okay, so three names you'll recognise.

Each of the mini-games has different challenges to take on, hence Namco's boast that Namco Arcade Golf features 40 different mini-games to play.

The game is due out next month, and its blend of mini-golf goodness and bargain retro arcade thrills could make quite a splash.
