Impossible Mission PSP screenshots break cover

And everything looks reassuringly familiar

Impossible Mission PSP screenshots break cover

We've only just recently told you an update of Epyx's classic platformer was on its way, but the fact no accompanying images for PSP were released alongside that announcement bothered us. You know, like an itch you can't quite scratch.

As such, we immediately composed a courteous yet firm email demanding some images, if only to verify the publisher's claim that the play dynamic of the update remains spookily close to the original.

We would have hit 'Send Now', too, had some shots not turned up this morning.

And to further solidify what is clearly emerging as one of those rare moments of perfection not dissimilar to planetary alignment, one look at the images should be enough to get ardent Impossible Mission fans to cancel their orders for home defibrillators.

Aside from the tastefully updated graphics, all of the original's elements appear very much in place, which should put a lot of older gamers' nervous hearts at ease, ours included.

Of course, everything could still flatline when it comes to how the game actually plays. It's an unlikely occurrence, granted, but we'd prefer to keep hold of our adrenaline shots until review time.
