World Series of Poker shuffles up for next-gen N-Gage

Nokia is planning to announce more details of its next-gen N-Gage platform at next week's GDC show in San Francisco, but some game news is dribbling out beforehand.

Glu Mobile has just announced that it'll be releasing an eight-player multiplayer version of its World Series of Poker Texas Hold'em game for N-Gage, along with 'a selection' of other titles.

We'd like to see a whizzy 3D version of Super KO Boxing, and a multiplayer Ancient Empires game, while we're also intrigued as to whether Glu's licence for Project Gotham Racing would cover an N-Gage version. With Symbian and Windows Mobile versions on the way, we're hoping it does.

"We're excited to be part of Nokia's mobile gaming efforts, and are impressed with the offering that Nokia has brought together with its new N-Gage platform," says Glu's European boss Kristian Segerstråle.

As we reported in January, other firms expected to release games for N-Gage include Disney, Sega Of America, Sony Online Entertainment, Universal, Square Enix, Capcom, THQ Wireless, Digital Chocolate, Tecmo, Namco and Vivendi Games, while Nokia has already confirmed EA Mobile and Gameloft for the new platform.
