Horse & Pony gallops onto your phone

Well, whaddya know, you wait several years for a horse-riding management simulation, then two come along at once.

Following news of Gameloft's new Horse Riding Academy, now HandyGames is coming out with its own title: Horse & Pony – My Stud Farm.

And before you snigger at the thought of mobile horseplay, don't forget that:

1) lots of young girls love horse-riding
2) they all have mobile phones nowadays
3) royal rider Zara Phillips is a serious contender for this year's BBC Sports Personality Of The Year award.

In other words, now is about the best time to be releasing equine games possible. In fact, we wouldn't be surprised to see a flood of copycat titles in the next few months, just like brain training games earlier this year.

But anyway. Horse & Pony sees you managing a stud farm, which is pretty ironic, given that HandyGames also released Porn Manager, where you managed a... well, you get the idea.

Here you'll have to breed foals, train them up, send them to national and international tournaments, and figure out a way to not look ridiculous in jodhpurs. And that ain't easy.

You can have up to ten horses in your stable, and there's even the option to take them for a quick canter.

The game will be clip-clopping onto mobiles everywhere next week.
