Brand new Super Monkey Ball game just for mobile!

Get ready to Tip'n'Tilt your way to some tasty banana action

Brand new Super Monkey Ball game just for mobile!

Glu Mobile is working on a new Super Monkey Ball game for mobile, and we've got the first details and shots. Called Super Monkey Ball Tip 'n Tilt, it's exclusive to mobile, and looks set to be worth going bananas for.

It's a 2D platform-style game, with you guiding your monkey to its target by tilting the platforms. Each level is played against a time limit, but you've got to balance rushing to the exit with collecting bananas along the way for bonus points and extra lives.

There'll be 48 levels to play, spread across three environments: Jungle Island, Under The Ocean and Volcanic Magma. There'll also be four different game modes, including the main one, challenge, time attack and practice. And it'll include a pass-the-handset multiplayer mode, too.

We've got our monkey mitts on a preview version, and it's shaping up nicely, with a pleasing amount of strategy (for example, if you tilt platforms sharply, then let them go, they bounce up again, enabling your monkey to gain more height).

Rumour has it Sega liked Glu's game so much, it included a very similar mini-game in the upcoming Nintendo Wii game Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. That's high praise indeed.

Super Monkey Ball Tip'n Tilt is due out in January. Click the 'Track It!' button at the top of this story to be sent an email when our review goes live.
