GamEvil's military epic Path Of A Warrior could slice up the opposition

Whatever the mobile equivalent is of queuing up outside a Game store for a Wii or PlayStation 3, we'd be doing it for Path Of A Warrior: Imperial Blood if it was coming out in the UK.

Published by Gamevil, it's a story-driven adventure epic set in a fantasy realm in the middle of a bloody civil war. You play a grizzled mercenary (not that there's ever a well-buffed and moisturised alternative) and get to choose which side to weigh in on.

There are over 1,000 weapons and items to collect, and dozens of nobles, generals and fellow warriors to meet in the game, as well as a whopping 24 endings, depending on how you play.

However, that's just the standalone version, which launches in the US soon.

Gamevil is also releasing a multiplayer version, which will involve four-player co-operative battles, massively multiplayer 'guild fights', and a swathe of online-only items to win. And you can transfer items and character skills between the offline and online games too.

In South Korea, people have been playing 37,000 online sessions of Path Of A Warrior every day, and the US looks set to follow this success.

The big question is: when's it coming to Europe? Probably not until next year, when the operators are expected to put more of a push behind multiplayer mobile games. Rest assured, we'll keep you informed: click 'Track It!' to stay in the loop.
