Is Sony planning to cut down support for multimedia features in the PSP firmware? That was the rumour that emerged as the week ended, as covered before end-of-week pub time on the Pocket Gamer blog.

It would seem a crazy thing to do, but perhaps the boffins are running out of room to squeeze in all that PlayStation 3 connectivity? Maybe they should give the homebrewers the keys to the code...

Certainly the PSP porn fans won't be pleased. And nor will Fox News – how will it generate sensational news reports if PSP owners can't access the Internet and find the porn that news channels have been shocked at people discovering for nearly 15 long and boring years now?
