If one dog year is equivalent to seven human ones and one cat year to five, how does it work when it comes to game icons? At ten human years, Lara Croft must be at least be in her late thirties, which would make Sonic, for example – currently celebrating his 15th year on God's good earth – a geriatric.

When it comes to Frogger though, 25 years of getting flattened by fast moving vehicles should surely see him close to enjoying his eternal rest.

But no. Publisher Konami is keeping the little fella as busy as ever, with the touchscreen mini-game focused My Frogger: Toy Trials his latest outing.

At least this time he's got a sidekick to share his hop 'n dodge workload with. For some strange reason, he's named 'The Hero,' and you have to move him around the game's adventure map while you race the other entrants in a toy pet competition.

Depending on where The Hero ends up, Frogger will then leap into action solving the various puzzles and competing in the mini-games on the bottom screen.

Adding a certain pantomime feel to the experience will be the ability to dress Frogger in power up costumes (probably not Widow Twanky though), which will bring him attributes such as super speed and stick-a-bility. Konami also says the game will support up to four players using the local wi-fi option.

So, the bottomline is this is a well-loved game character in a DS touchscreen mini-game collection. To be honest it sounds remarkably like Vivendi's Crash Boom Bang! game, which we weren't particularly impressed with. Let's hope My Frogger: Toy Trials manages to be a bit more imaginative, otherwise Frogger might be getting closer to his sticky end than Konami could ever imagine.

Still leaping around a lilypad, My Frogger: Toy Trials won't be available in the UK until sometime in 2007.
