Oh my God, it's what Blair and Bush have been warning us about all along, a whole nation full of bomber men! Time to run for the hills, curtail civil liberties and adopt a questionable foreign policy!

Sorry, no, hang on a second, Bomberman Land Touch! isn't anything to do with the Axis of Evil at all. It's actually the latest instalment of the legendary game series from Atlus entertainment and Hudson Soft.

Scheduled for release in early November, Bomberman Land Touch! transports the explosive action of Bomber Man into a brand new adventure format. Freed from the rectangular grid-like levels of previous games, you'll get to explore Bomber Island solving unique puzzles, chatting with rival characters and engaging in 36 different one-to-four-player 'attractions' (we'd call them mini-games) en route to becoming the Pirate King.

As the game's name hints at, much of the challenge will be undertaken on the DS's lower screen, using the stylus backed up by the microphone. The top view will display your inventory and a map covering five zones: a harbour town, a mountainous region, an aquarium, a jungle, and a castle.

Any mini games unlocked via the main story mode can subsequently be enjoyed on their own, and fans of classic Bomberman action can enjoy explosive contests with up to seven friends via wi-fi (multiplayer has always being the highlight of the series).

Suffice to say our extensive intelligence network will be monitoring developments over the next few months, so stay alert!
