New details emerge from Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony PSP

You may well recall from our previous Dungeon Siege coverage that initial details on the game weren't exactly plentiful.

Still, the good news for anyone who found the wait agonising is that we now know considerably more than we did a couple of months ago.

For starters, before you bravely go off on the all-new, non-linear single-player campaign, we've learned there are four unique characters to choose from. Each can be customised as they level up to eight different Hero Classes, and then further into 16 Legendary Classes.

You don't have to be alone, though. You may choose from some 16 pets and companions to join you on your quest – a good thing, too, as you'll need to switch between them in order to use their special powers against the many evils you encounter.

Speaking of the devils, more than 100 monsters populate the UMD, and while some are likely to be familiar to Dungeon Siege fans, many are freshly out of the fiend factory.

Happily, you have over 100 spells and abilities to unleash against them, as well as access to countless weapons and armour (all fully enchantable, naturally).

If you still feel the odds are still stacked against you, then why not enlist the help of a friend via the multi-player cooperative Campaign mode, which enables two players to bring a Pet or Companion each for a four-party experience?

Conversely, if what you crave is a tougher, more immediate challenge, then the multi-player Battle Arenas should provide the quick thrills you seek.

Finally, if time is not an issue, then enjoy the 15-hour Campaign (which can be played in either Mercenary or Elite modes) as you explore the vast game world, knowing that even the remotest areas can be reached thanks to the aerial and naval vehicles.

Once we find our way back, we'll be sure to let you know our thoughts on Throne of Agony.
