'Miracle Boy' returns to video game form

Dave Mirra BMX Challenge backflips onto PSP

Crave Entertainment today announced a game featuring Dave Mirra, the golden boy of BMXing (literally – he's the current X Games gold medal record holder and last year gave his bike a 24K coating), should be dropping in on PSP in October.

Dave Mirra BMX Challenge features 17 levels set in nine environments, with up to four-player ad hoc wireless support promised.

Other riders – which are customisable – are expected to line up alongside Miracle Boy, and you'll have nine bike models of varying specs to choose from.

There's been no talk of moves available but it's safe to expect an extensive repertoire of BMX favourites, including obligatory signature tricks such as Dave's double-backflip.

It all sounds perfectly rad at this stage, but we won't be stoked until we get more details (and screenshots, of course).

Until then we'll offer a little background info instead: Dave has previously been the star of a handful of games for home consoles, most of which were rather playable (if a little rough around the edges). Evidence, however, that if done properly this is a sport that lends itself perfectly to video game interpretation.
