How to buy and transfer a game to your phone

Buying and downloading games on your mobile phone is a surprisingly easy process, one that takes little longer than a couple of minutes. In fact, the hardest part is choosing which game you want to get! So, here's the Pocket Gamer guide to buying and downloading a game on your mobile phone.

You'll need to get your phone to connect to the internet using its WAP/mobile internet browser. You can launch this either from within your phone's games menu, where it's usually listed as something like "See more games", or from your phone's main menu.
Unless you've changed it, your phone will go automatically to your network operator's home page. Here you'll be able to browse for games by category as well as read a short description of them and, sometimes, see a picture.
When you find a game that you like, select it and scroll down the screen until you see a link (usually text in blue) that says "buy this game". When the link is highlighted by the blue box, click on the button underneath your phone's display that represents a tick, OK, or buy. On some phones, one of your phone's softkeys (the buttons below your phone's display) may enable you to buy a game, as seen here.
You'll be asked to confirm whether you really want to buy the game, so say yes. Depending upon your phone model you may be asked where you want to save the game – it's worth saving it in the location suggested by your phone. The game will then begin downloading, a process that takes around a minute or two. You'll also receive a text message confirming that you've bought the game.
Before you begin playing the game, make sure you close your phone's WAP browser! If you're not asked whether you want to close it, simply press the End Call button on your keypad.
You can then access your new game from your phone's games menu. Your mobile phone account will have been billed automatically and, if you're on a monthly payment plan, the game will show up on your next statement.
And there you go! We've been as specific as possible but due to the slight differences between mobile phone handsets and network operators, the process may vary slightly frm handset to handset. If you get stuck or don't know what to do next, get in touch with your network, who'll be glad to help you.
