Thanks to support from the likes of Arsenal’s Thierry Henry, who’s such a committed player he asked to do the marketing for the game he loves, Pro Evolution Soccer is THE game for footie fans. And it’s coming to PSP. Konami has just announced a version for Sony’s handheld will be released at the same time as the PlayStation2, Xbox and PC versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 around October or November.

Featuring 57 national sides and 136 club teams, the PSP game promises to be almost identical to the other versions. Of course, it will also take advantage of the PSP’s abilities using wi-fi to enable fans to challenge rivals to games, with all data related to matches - wins, goals for and goals against - retained in a running tally.

There will be six different leagues and a host of cup tournaments in the single player mode and you’ll be able to link your PSP with the PlayStation2 version to transfer data and import or swap the teams you’ve build up between the two.
