We all know that reckless driving isn’t big, clever or even slightly amusing in real life. In the weird world of video games however it’s bloody hilarious as Synergix’s upcoming release Carmageddon aims to prove, placing particular emphasis placed on the ‘bloody’ part. As fans of the original racer will recall, much of the fun of the game is to be had from mowing down hapless pedestrians or opponents in ever more creative ways in between smashing other vehicles, performing outrageous stunts and, god-forbid, actually racing between check points.

Luigi Fumero of developer Impressionware explains more, “With its originality, the mobile version of Carmageddon will excite both fans of the original PC/console game as well as new players. We have added an incredible amount of features to the game: four outrageous cars, four crazy drivers, three different environments to run havoc in and 36 playable events divided in six different event types, from straight races to mad destruction derbies. Fun is guaranteed.”

Well he would say that we suppose, but with the promise of loads of new features married to the guilty hit-and-run happiness of the original we’re suitably excited by the prospect of it swerving onto our handsets in the very near future. What’s more with separate Brew and full 3D versions currently in the works and slated to appear later this year it could be time for other racing games to buckle up their ideas!
