Vivendi breathes fire onto DS
New tricks in store for kid-friendly Spyro
The little dragon has notched up 17 million sales to date but now Spyro is taking his charms to DS. Due in the autumn, it seems the game, called Spyro Shadow Legacy, will be making full use of the device. The touch screen will be used so players can draw magical symbols to cast spells as well as being used an overhead map. DS’ Wi-Fi will mean you’ll be able to trade creatures you’ve collected in the game with other players too.
As for other game elements, Vivendi says there will be some role-playing. When you defeat creatures, players will be able to allocate the experience points they’ve gained to improve Spyro’s strength and abilities. This will develop so you can build new magical powers and martial arts combat abilities as the game progresses.
