Building on its Rovio-themed teaser during E3, Activision has confirmed it's secured the rights to bring Angry Birds to console in the form of a new compilation release.

Featuring Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio, the appropriately named Angry Birds Trilogy will launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 3DS in Q4 2012, sporting a host of new video content and other extras.

"With Angry Birds Trilogy, every version supports the unique experience tailor-made for the platform," explained Rovio's executive VP Petri Järvilehto.

Activision claims the game will also support Xbox Kinect, PlayStation Move, and 3DS Streetpass on their respective platforms.

It's a move Järvilehto claims will aid "easy family-friendly game play."

"We're seeing that resonate strongly especially with the younger audience. With PS3 you can play also with the Move controller," added Järvilehto.

"On Nintendo 3DS we're supporting Stereoscopic 3D and Streetpass.

"We are working hard to ensure that no matter what platform you choose to play on, you will always get the best possible game play experience."
