The King of Fighters Allstar launches first collab event with the iconic Virtua Fighter franchise

Netmarble has just released an exciting update for The King of Fighters Allstar which features a new crossover event. The popular mobile ARPG is joining forces with Sega’s iconic title, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, in what hopes to be the first of many such collabs. Players can expect new themed fighters and in-game events to commemorate their arrival.

It’s a great time to be a Virtua Fighter fan because two of their iconic heroes are joining the battle in King of Fighters Allstar. Akira and Pai will be introduced in this update, followed by Sarah and Jacky in the near future. What’s more is that the character models will look very similar to their 1993 counterparts, so it’s going to be bucketloads of nostalgia for everyone.

While Original Stye Sarah can be obtained through in-game summons, Original Style Akira is relatively easy to get because he’s being given away as a free login bonus. Plus, players get to awaken Akira five times so that he’s even stronger. Other events give players the perfect chance to test these new heroes out.

In the Collaboration Boss Showdown, players will unlock more valuable rewards as they clear stages, ultimately facing off against Akira himself, who is a high-level boss. Collaboration Dream Matches, on the other hand, feature real-time 3v3 battles that allow the use of Virtua Fight characters before unlocking them, making it the perfect testing ground.
