Full Throttle! Nuclear Throne! All the Vita news from PSX this weekend
Bit.Trip! Bastion! Hitman GO!
Sony held an event this weekend called PlayStation Experience, where it surprised the world by remembering that the Vita still exists. Here's what handheld hold-outs can expect in 2016… and right now.
Ridiculous Fishing developer Vlambeer has launched its post-apocalyptic, twin-stick roguelike Nuclear Throne on Vita for £9.49 / $11.99. It's cross-buy with the PS4 version.
There's also The BIT.TRIP, which is also out now, for £7.99 / $9.99 and cross-buy with PS4. This is a compilation of six different Bit.Trip games, including rhythmic auto-runner Bit.Trip Runner and trippy shmup Bit.Trip Beat.
Developer Choice Provisions is also bringing Woah Dave! sequel Space Dave and track-swapping driving game DriveDriveDive to Vita next year.
Bastion, the stunning RPG from the studio behind Transistor, is also out now on Vita. If you have it on PS4 you'll now own the Vita edition. Otherwise, it's £11.99 / $14.99, or £3.60 / $2.85 if you're on PlayStation Plus.
While Double Fine is hard at work on a remastered version of Day of the Tentacle, it's also going to be giving a fresh coat of paint to cult-classic biker saga Full Throttle. Expect it on your Vita, with lots of special features, in 2016.
Haven't had a chance to play the terrific Hitman GO on mobile? Don't worry: a Vita and PS4 version is planned for next year. Hopefully, a PlayStation version of the even better Lara Croft GO is on the cards.
SNK hasn't forgotten the Vita, either. The Last Blade 2 - an old-school arcade fighter - is getting ported to the handheld, and PS4.
