Running, dodging, jumping, and even flying - everything is possible in the new MetroLand, a game from Kiloo, the developers who brought us the beloved Subway Surfers. In this MetroLand guide, we'll give you a bunch of useful tips and tricks to get you started, so without further ado, let's check them out!

MetroLand is an endless running game very similar to Subway Surfers, so if you're already familiar with that one, you can use your existing knowledge to collect the characters, power-ups, loot and outsmart the chasers. Since it's pretty much a never-ending game, you can always aim for better high scores and expand your gadget collection. Talking about high scores, do you know what the world record in Subway Surfers is?

The following MetroLand guide will give you all the important pointers to help you figure out a playstyle fit for you, and much more! So let's dive right in, shall we?

Tip #1 - Perfect your controls

If you haven't played Subway Surfers or Temple Run before, then chances are you might easily be overwhelmed by the fast-paced environment in MetroLand. The best way to get used to the game is by starting slow, and not aiming for some crazy big high scores.

Instead, focus on learning when the best time to move is (left, right, up or down) because each obstacle can be avoided one way or another. Take your initial time in the game to do this and really get familiar with the controls - you won't regret it in the long run.

Tip #2 - Don't die to collect coins

You should never die in order to collect the coins you see, even though it might seem like a good idea, especially if you're doing a quest. If you are not trying to complete the Story mode, then you can do this for missions alone, but if you want to pass all the Story mode stages and collect all that loot, then you need to try to aim higher every time.

The boosts and tokens are always great, and sometimes - really, only sometimes! - it's worth dying for them. But for Coins, it's almost never worth it, so avoid doing that.

Tip #3 - Missed a daily reward? No problem!

If you missed your daily reward for a particular day, then don't worry. You can still claim the missed rewards for the week by watching an ad. That'll most certainly come in handy later on, so make sure to claim all the rewards each day of the week. The only thing to avoid is going an entire week without claiming your rewards. That would be a big loss - the best days to log in are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Tip #4 - Complete all the Daily Goals, every single day

From the Daily Goals and the daily missions, each player can claim 10 free Chips every single day, which is pretty good considering you get this premium currency for free. It can be used to help you keep playing if you fail during your run, so it's going to be helpful to have some extra Chips.

Tip #5 - Upgrade the characters whenever you can

You can upgrade each of the characters by collecting their fragments. To do that, all you need to do is make sure that you have the character you want to upgrade equipped while you're playing (by going into the Crew tab and selecting one of them). As you keep running, you'll find fragments specific to each one of them which you can then use to upgrade their level.

The more you upgrade a character, the stronger they'll become and the better the multiplier you'll receive. It would also be recommended to try and complete as many missions as you can, especially the Story missions since they unlock features and character tokens.

Tip #6 - Higher ground is better

Whenever you run, you should always try to do it on the higher ground. It's much easier to avoid incoming obstacles from there because you'll have a better view and you'll always have the option to go down in order to avoid something. From the lower ground, you can always hit yourself in any direction, including up.

If you can find an opening and start running on top of the obstacles, it'll be better in the long run since you'll survive longer, and therefore score better high scores.

Tip #7 - You can always dodge at the last moment

While playing MetroLand, one thing I noticed and it'll most definitely come in handy is that you can always dodge at the last second, or start the animation before the obstacle, but enough to not land on it. In a way, you can sort of pre-jump over an obstacle and chances are the game will not land you on the object, but past it.

You can practice this by doing a few test runs until you find that sweet spot that you're safe to jump from. Also, you can always dodge left and right at the last possible second. If you're in doubt, just swipe left or right and chances are you won't hit the obstacle even though your character would still be in the animation.

Tip #8 - Watch ads for free Coins and Chips

Every day you can get a bunch of Coins and Chips for free by watching ads. Simply head over to the Shop by tapping on the "+" next to the Coins and Chips you have in the upper right corner of the screen and then scroll down until you see the Chips section.

You can watch one ad to receive 5 free Chips, and if you scroll even lower, you can see the offer that gives you the option to watch an ad and receive 600 Coins. The Chips offer is one time per day only, and the Coins offer can be repeated up to 3 times a day. If you're ever in need, don't forget to grab your free loot from here!

Tip #9 - Upgrade the right Power Ups first

Make no mistake, all Power Ups are amazing. However, some of them are better than others in the early stages of the game, while some are amazing later on. For the early stages, you really want to grab that Coin Magnet and upgrade it as much as you can, because it'll help you grab every single coin without putting yourself in danger.

In the later stages of the game, the Shield, Drone Ride, Double Jump and Wing Suit are the best. I'd strongly recommend upgrading the Coin Magnet first, then the Shield, then the Drone Ride, the boosts and then whichever ones you have left, in the order you need them the most.
