Genshin Impact's v2.8 Summer Fantasia goes live tomorrow with its first phase of events
Genshin Impact is set to release its latest update, v2.8 – Summer Fantasia tomorrow. It is going to feature Shikanoin Heizou, a new playable character, the return of the Golden Apple Archipelago, and lots more events. You can read an overview of the event in our recent article. Content updates in Genshin Impact usually follow a phased approach and tomorrow players will be privy to phase one of what’s to come in Summer Fantasia.
Kicking things off is a new story event called Acer Palmatum Chapter that allows players above Adventure Rank 40 to unlock Kaedehara Kazuha. Summertime Odyssey is another major event which sees players complete Phantom Realms challenges to earn a variety of rewards.
In Resonating Visions, players will be tasked with collecting various Phantasmal Conches to earn an exclusive outfit for Fischl, while Red Dead of the Night is Diluc’s new costume, available in the shop for 1,980 Genesis Crystals. It features new animations, special effects, and voice lines. The Hangout Series returns for its seventh edition as well. I hope you're not tired of events because there are two more to go. Azure Main offers players bucketloads of rewards whereas Hidden Strife brings back a threat from the past after a visit to the Dawn Winery.
There are three Event Wishes to look out for as well. These will all be accessible after the update goes live and will run until August 2nd. Check out which heroes and weapons will receive drop-rate boosts below:
