GTA-like Gangstar Rio: City of Saints drives slowly onto Android
Then opens fire
Gameloft has just dropped the R-bomb and told us that its Grand Theft Auto-style 3D open-world adventure Gangstar Rio: City of Saints has been released on Google Play.
The game puts you in the smartly suited body of a mean son-of-a-gun who finds himself on the wrong end of an assassination attempt in sunny Rio de Janeiro.
This, understandably, annoys our man - now reborn as the bare-chested Angel - and so he sets out onto the streets to find his killer.
Alas, there are quite a few suspects to choose from (he wasn't a very nice murderer). So, in time-honoured tradition, you have to accept missions from people, roll around the open-world environment, and 'pop' some 'caps' in some 'donkeys' to get your revenge.
There must be an Angel, shooting at my heartThere's a host of weapons to wield, including the amusingly silly Exploding Football and always effective RPG, plus everyone's favourite vehicle: a tank.
The original iOS release scored a fairly mediocre 5/10, so don't expect a masterpiece. It does, however, include an exploding football. Did I mention the football? It explodes.
Gangstar Rio: City of Saints is out now on Google Play, priced at £4.99 [download].
Warning: Trailer below contains strong language and weak voice acting.
