Exos Heroes, LINE Games' popular fantasy RPG, is set to permanently close its doors very soon
LINE Games’ gacha RPG Exos Heroes has officially announced that it will soon shut down for good, having only been released for about two and a half years now. After launching exclusively within Korea, Exos Heroes found a lot of success with its excellent character designs, engaging gameplay, and thoroughly interesting plot. Unfortunately, it seems the developers couldn’t agree on where to take the game, instead choosing to call it quits permanently.
This type of news is always the saddest to write, regardless of the game. Mobile games inevitably shut down at some point, but typically it’s due to having been supported for so many years that it simply can’t go on. This particular situation is far more disappointing to hear about, especially for the millions of active players that Exos Heroes held.
The stated reason for this seemingly out-of-the-blue shutdown is that the developers simply couldn’t decide what the game should become. There had been concerns about the direction of Exos Heroes for a while, but it seems these finally came to a head, and LINE decided that it’s just easier for them to end support and focus on other titles both new and current.
One of the worst parts of this all, aside from the fact that a game that had a hefty fanbase is shutting down of course, is that Exos Heroes isn’t taking the route most shut-down mobile games take in allowing players to still enjoy the game for some time. Instead, LINE is removing the game from storefronts on April 6th, and permanently disabling play altogether come May 11th.
Still, I suppose that leaves us with a small amount of time to still give the game a go, so if you’d like to before it closes its doors in about a week, you can download Exos Heroes for free at either of the links below.
