Super Hexagon developer, Terry Cavanagh, has a new premium roguelike on the way
And we can't wait to get our hands on it
For the past few months developer Terry Cavanagh (VVVVVV, Super Hexagon) has been working on a new game called Dicey Dungeons. While there have been multiple playable builds of the game so far, it was announced today that this will be Cavanagh's third commercial title.
It's still early days for the game, but we know a scattering of information. Dicey Dungeons will be a roguelike all about dice. There are three playable classes at the moment:So! I've made some Dicey Decisions! Dicey Dungeons will be my third commercial game! More here! https://t.co/4aCHkS9BPO pic.twitter.com/zyBmFzJOGQ — Terry (@terrycavanagh) May 22, 2018
- Warrior
- "The Warrior starts with a Sword, 24 health points and 2 dice."
- Thief
- "The Thief starts with a Dagger, a Lockpick, 28 health points and 2 dice."
- Inventor
- "The Inventor starts with a Hammer, two pieces of Scrap Metal, a Jetpack gadget, 24 health points and 2 dice."
Aside from the basic information available on the website so far, Cavanagh released a teeny interview where he goes into more detail. Here we found out that the game will hopefully have six classes, it'll be premium, there will be an artist and musician joining the team soon, and it'll likely come out on Steam before arriving on iOS and Android.
Though there's no set date, there's a rough estimate of the game launching later this year once it's gotten a bit of spit-shine and polish.
