Dark Souls could be getting a VR debut - or at least it's 'hoping' to
A dream or a nightmare?
I don't know about you guys but I think Dark Souls is one of the best western RPGs to date, and the idea that it could be on its way to VR both excites and terrifies me very much.
At The Golden Joystick Awards, the pre-show livestream resulted in some rather unexpected news as the creator of Dark Souls, Atsuo Yoshimura, was bombarded with VR-related questions. Most importantly it looks like we may be getting some form of the rage-inducing game on VR eventually.
Though we already have Chronos, a tricky third-person RPG, on Oculus, Dark Souls would certainly lend itself well for this form of play - I'm imagining it to be a little like the old Resident Evil and Silent Hill visual perspectives.
However my one major hesitation, and probably quite a lot of people's hesitation, is in hoping that they bring out the full game and not just an experience of it like PSVR's Rise of the Tomb Raider. We'll just have to wait and see.
