How to play as Kha'Zix in Wild Rift

LoL: Wild Rift Kha'Zix Guide: Best build, items, runes
Updated: July 27, 2021

In this League of Legends: Wild Rift Kha'Zix guide you'll find everything you need to know about the champion, from his skills and how to allocate them to his build, skill combo, and runes. Here is what you will find in the Kha'Zix guide below:

Kha'Zix, the Voidreaver, is our next Wild Rift champion on the list. Kha'Zix is a champion that is most often played in the jungle, and quite successfully too. He can be extremely powerful in 1v1 scenarios because his kit is specifically designed to assassinate unexpecting enemies and ambush them in 1v1 scenarios (where he will come out victorious 90% of the time).

This champion is not too difficult to learn, but not extremely easy to play either. He will win most isolated trades because of his passive skill which increases the damage he does to isolated targets, and that alone makes him a great champion to carry in solo queue.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Kha'Zix skills

Unseen Threat (Passive)

When the enemy team loses sight of Kha'Zix, its next attack against enemy champions deals bonus magic damage and slows them briefly.

Taste Their Fear (Skill 1)

Kha'Zix causes physical damage by slashes with its claws dealing additional damage if the target is isolated. Evolved Reaper Claws: basic attacks and Taste Their Fear have increased range and if a target is isolated, meaning that they have no teammates or turrets nearby, then a significant portion of Taste Their Fear's cooldown is refunded.

Void Spike (Skill 2)

Kha'Zix fires spikes to deal physical damage while also partially healing itself if it is within the explosion. Evolved Spike Racks: fires additional spikes revealing and slowing enemies for a short duration.

Leap (Skill 3)

Kha'Zix leaps to a targeted area and deals physical damage. Evolved Wings: Leap gains significant range and the cooldown is refunded on champion takedowns.

Void Assault (Skill 4 / Ultimate)

Passive: each upgrade to Void Assault allows for Kha'Zix to evolve one of his abilities. Active: Kha'Zix becomes invisible and gains movement speed briefly. Evolved Adaptive Cloaking: invisibility duration lasts longer and can be cast multiple times.

How to combo as Kha'Zix

If you want to pull off some sleek Kha'Zix combos, you might have to practice - quite a bit - beforehand. Of course, it's quite easy to kill enemies that are slow or immobile (Marksmen), but when you're faced with opponents that are very mobile, you need to time your skills perfectly in order to shut them down.

- Skill 3 -> Skill 1 -> Auto-attack -> Skill 2

This is one of the simplest combos to pull off on the champion. You'll basically jump forward with your Skill 3, then take advantage of the passive proc with Skill 1. Then, with Skill 2 you can quickly follow up for some more added damage. If the target is very low, you might want to consider chasing after them.

- Skill 2 -> Skill 3 -> Skill 1 -> Auto-attack

The following combo works best if you are hidden and quickly ambush your enemy (jump from a brush). It's ideal if you know that you have the damage to kill an enemy 100 to 0 before they can even Flash away.

Keep in mind what Kha'Zix's ultimate does and use it wisely

Remember that the ultimate Kha'Zix has lets him evolve an ability, granting him invisibility when activating it. He is also able to recast it, becoming invisible again. Once you have evolved it, it can be cast additional times, pretty much increasing the invisibility duration by a lot - he will be a deadly void-predator-insect that can crush squishies.

Some of the best uses of his ultimate are when there is a major fight (Baron or Elder for example) and you want to take out someone in a matter of seconds, or try to secure the objective before the enemy (then Skill 3 over the wall). You can also use it to escape from difficult situations, but the point is that you want to be the one chasing enemies when playing Kha, not the other way around.

In what order to level up the skills?

For Kha'Zix, you want to max out your Skill 1 first, then follow up with Skill 2 and lastly with Skill 3.

  • Level 1: Skill 1
  • Level 2: Skill 2
  • Level 3: Skill 3
  • Level 4: Skill 1
  • Level 5: Skill 4
  • Level 6: Skill 1
  • Level 7: Skill 1

Keep levelling Skill 1 until it's maxed, then focus on Skill 2, and lastly on Skill 3. Of course, whenever you can, you want to add 1 point into your Skill 4 (Ultimate).

The best summoner spells

Smite: Deal 440 true damage (440 - 1100) to a large or epic monster or minion. Smiting monsters restores 70 HP. Slaying 4 large monsters upgrades Smite to Chilling Smite or Challenging Smite, which can target enemy champions. (+ the bonuses from Hunting License and Tooth and Nail from Smite, that charge once every 45s)

Flash: Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction.

Kha'Zix item build Boots

The boots situation depends highly on the champions you will have to fight on the enemy team. In most cases, you can go for Ionian Boots, but sometimes you might have to go for Plated Steelcaps or Mercury's Treads.

Stasis is probably the best choice for conferring some additional survivability and the invulnerable state when you want to dive under the enemy towers. Protobelt is the alternative, which works great if the entire enemy team is squishy and you need additional dashes.
