Narrative games are defined as games driven by the narration of the plot, dialogues, player choices and - of course - gameplay. This is a sub-genre of other genres, you have adventure games that are narrative-driven, there are puzzle games with a narrative drive, and many more.

Narrative games captivate players, providing a way to interact with a story while still following it and becoming part of the story itself. Many narratives build their story through dialogue, while others have a lone character, building the world around them through what they see or what they are interacting with. Some are heavily text-driven, while others use text a bit less.

There have been many different narrative games released this year, but we have put together the best of the best when it comes to mobile narrative games of 2020. So let’s get into them!

Find out more about Ord.
Ord.

Ord. is a narrative game that consists of primarily three words. You start with one word and two choices, making a choice will branch the game, bringing you to new locations or allowing you to make new decisions. Following the same path sometimes still brings you to a new place, which means each time you play the game, there is something new to discover. As the stories are simple, the gameplay is quick, so it’s easy to jump into your own mini-adventure and then come back out again, before restarting.
